&Mexico
I think it’s time for me to dwell a little on the fantastic country in the blog title.
Although unfortunately I’ve never been there before, I’m really looking forward to the point in my life when I’ll have the opportunity to do so (just to have some cold country mentioned, I feel the same way with Norway).
If you read this, the question may arise in you; how does a Central European man warp on such?
I think the answer is very simple: Internet.
Now that I’ve snapped in the middle, let’s get back to the beginning a little bit.
Before Mexico
As incredible as it was to me before I got to know Mexico better, the country already existed, and even I did. Although I don't think it's really new to anyone who went to school.
Yes, I went too.
No, this wasn't the first time I've heard of Mexico.
But somehow it was never in my spotlight, somehow I never felt that temperament would fit into my life, but "times are changing and I'm changing with you." (sorry for the hungarian reference).
And then came Her, who showed what a miracle is lurking on the American continent.
Headjump into Mexico with Her
Here comes into the picture that I knew some Spanish. Unfortunately, in active learning, the tip of my knife bent a bit, so I wanted to find a site where I could practice the language and even meet new people.
Sure, the internet is full of better-than-better (?) sites with payment options, but I was very lucky to find a site that’s right for me.
And it's not an advertisement, it's just a fact: A page called Tandem fit my goals exactly, and it still retains the character of not falling into the category of Tinder-like acquaintance (?) pages (I don't think I need to show that this is exactly what does it mean, right?).
So I set out to want to speak Spanish, improve myself, and move from "¡Hola! Qué tal?" to a little more detailed conversation.
And luckily I met Her very soon, with whom I was finally completely impressed including her wonderfully special name, then her habitus and kindness, and from here it led a straight way to make room for Mexico in my heart (since I don’t want to describe her full name, so I’ll mention her as 'Ari' ).
Immerse oneself into Mexico
Before you think it’s that simple that I knew everything about Mexico after that and read the book Sin and Punishment in Spanish, I have to disappoint you.
Because I was first interested in 'Ari'. What is she like? How does she see the world? What is she interested in?
What the answer to these questions should remain as a secret of the two of us, but through this and through Her eyes I have been able to see the country where she lives, improve my Spanish a little and of course learn the most "beautiful" words for language learners.
And as I saw where 'Ari' was going, what she saw, what her customs were, and how wonderfully beautiful and good Mexico really was (contrary to stereotypes), there was no stopping and nothing could stop me from being a fan of this North American country. It won over me with K.O.
So that’s how I met Mexico and 'Ari', that’s how I came to make this country part of my blog.
I am confident that I will be able to authentically pass on the curiosities that I would like to show you here later, but if I don't, 'Ari' will definitely not leave me without a word!
Thank you again, 'Ari'!
I got the picture from 'Ari', she took it and shared it with me during one of her wonderful journeys (location: Parque Natural Villaluz, Tapijulapa)
Gracias a ti!
